Passive Harmonic Filters

Passive Harmonic Filters

Passive Harmonic Filters, which are connected to the input of harmonic sources with 6-pulse rectifiers in their structure, consist of frequency dependent L-C elements. They are based on the principle of acting low impedance at the fundamental frequency and high impedance at harmonic frequencies.

Application Fields

  • • Fan and pump applications
  • • HVAC systems
  • • UPSs that feeding steady loads
  • • Compressors
  • • DC fast chargers

Passive Harmonic Filters consist of frequency dependent L-C elements. They are used for loads with high current harmonics in the structure of 6-pulse rectifiers (AC drives, UPSs, etc.) operating at a constant speed and feeding a constant load. They are connected in series. They exhibit high impedance at high frequencies and act against harmonics. At the fundamental frequency, they take on the task of reactive power compensation. Passive harmonic filters are produced as wall mounted type and standing type. Wall mounted type for 110 A and below, standing type for loads above 110 A. Passive harmonic filters are produced with CE certificate and complying with EN 61000-2-2, EN 61558-2-20, EN 60831-1 standards.
